JORAN: Innovation Trophy nominee

JORAN hexapod has been nominated for the Innovation Trophy in the "Technology" category of Mesurexpovision trade show, to be held in Paris from October 23 to 25, 2012!

JORAN is a high stability positioning hexapod, which is ideal to support mirrors or vacuum chambers on synchrotrons beamlines.

New product

New product: JORAN high stability hexapod

JORAN is a hexapod designed to position and adjust elements with high precision and with a resolution of 0.5 µrad.

The conception of JORAN, particularly of its actuators and platforms, ensures a great stability and guarantees the positioning quality over time.

Developed at the request of ESRF, it is ideal to support mirrors or vacuum chambers on synchrotrons beamlines.

SYMETRIE grows taller

SYMETRIE is currently constructing a new building of 400 sq.m. and 9 m high to mount very big hexapods. This will also allow us to install a clean room to facilitate the integration of hexapods requiring a certain level of cleanliness (vacuum compatibility, space optics ...).
Delivery: summer 2012.

Royal visit at UWA

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, inspected the VK1 airborne gravity gradiometer developed for RioTinto at the University of Western Australia in Perth.

The gravity gradiometer has been tested with the help of our Mistral hexapod.
The hexapod reproduces the aircraft motion, as the gravity gradiometer will be operated from an aircraft.

Thanks to VK1, RioTinto will be able to detect new orebodies, that would have been difficult to find with traditional methods.

BORA wins the Innovation Trophy!

SYMETRIE’s miniature hexapod BORA won the Innovation Trophy in the "controls and tests" category at Mesurexpo trade show on October 4, 2011.BORA Innovation Trophy

BORA comes with outstanding characteristics for its small size. With a height of only 157 mm, it can position a 10 kg payload with a 0.1 µm resolution.

The Innovation Trophy was awarded by a jury of professional journalists and industry representatives of vision and measurement fields.

Italian students visit SYMETRIE

SYMETRIE was pleased to receive a group of Italian students of the Torricelli Industrial &Technical Institute of Milan on July 27, 2011.

These future engineers and their teachers discovered the advantages of the hexapod technology compared to stacked stages : low mass, high stiffness, easy use of the six degrees of freedom.
During the visit of SYMETRIE premises, they watched the assembly of our miniature positioners BORA in our workshop.

In our metrology laboratory with controlled temperature and humidity, the students were able to discover our technological equipments, such as our high capacity coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
